Located around 8 nautical miles south of Phuket, Koh Racha Yai is one of the most famous day trip destinations in the area and can only be accessed if you rent a private boat from Phuket or join in on a boat trip to Coral Island. Further south is the uninhabited and wild island of Ratcha Noi, perfect for divers with a few amazing diving spots. Marine life that one can spot here include Manta Rays and Leopard Sharks and if you’re luck one can even spot a Whale Shark. Besides these one can also find tons of Tuna and Barracuda swimming freely here. Due to the hard-coral reef and large granite boulders the marine life here is extremely diverse. The 4 shipwrecks here also make it an extremely attractive destination for divers. There is hardly any join in boat tours to Ratcha Noi however one can enjoy the beauty of this island by a Jabudays charter boat from Phuket.
